Agnes J. Bastrzyk
Agnes Bastrzyk is President of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America (PRCUA Life) and the first woman to hold this historic role. With over 17 years of experience in the life insurance and financial services industry, Agnes combines deep expertise in underwriting, annuities, financial management, risk oversight, and strategic planning with a strong commitment to community and cultural preservation. In her role, she works directly with members to provide life insurance and retirement solutions while guiding PRCUA’s long-term growth and innovation, honoring its 150-year legacy as a cornerstone of the Polish-American community.
Throughout her career, Agnes has advanced mission-driven financial protection and fraternal leadership. She emphasizes inclusivity, mentorship, and positive encouragement, believing that nurturing talent and attracting new members are essential to sustaining traditional institutions in the modern era. Agnes’s professional philosophy centers on service, integrity, and balancing financial stewardship with community impact. She also plays an active role in the broader Polish-American community, serving on the boards of the Polish American Congress and its Charitable Foundation, and leading initiatives such as the Holy Trinity Polish Language School. She is also preparing for the upcoming gala in June supporting the Polish Museum of America, reflecting her commitment to cultural preservation and civic engagement.
A graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business, Agnes began her career with PRCUA in 2008 as a licensed life insurance and annuity agent. She advanced through underwriting and marketing, later serving as Director of Marketing and Secretary-Treasurer before ascending to the presidency. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Agnes treasures time with her husband and three children, enjoys hosting game nights, and actively cultivates family traditions alongside her community and professional commitments. Her career reflects a rare combination of industry expertise, visionary leadership, and dedication to both people and purpose.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be encouraging and supportive; mentor younger people and work to remove gatekeeping that prevents new leaders from emerging in traditional organizations.
