Ahlyana J. Richardson, MA, ATR-P, is a master’s-level, pre-licensed art therapist and mental health counselor dedicated to fostering healing and empowerment through art therapy. She earned a dual degree from Lesley University, completing her Bachelor of Science in Art Therapy in 2023 and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy in 2025. Ahlyana’s approach is rooted in kindness, empathy, and trauma-informed care, with a strong commitment to social justice. She aspires to work in community-based settings, supporting individuals and communities historically affected by systemic oppression.

Parallel to her clinical pursuits, Ahlyana has spent nearly a decade at the Roger Williams Park Zoo as a volunteer, intern, and part-time Education Program Instructor. There, she has helped individuals of all ages cultivate empathy, respect, and connection with nature, which also inspired her thesis research exploring the restorative and integrative potential of eco-art therapy. Her work focuses on using art as a therapeutic tool to enhance well-being, social connection, and mental health, especially among underserved and marginalized populations.

Currently, Ahlyana serves as a mental health clinician at The Inner You Counseling Center, where she provides comprehensive care, advocates for patients, and coordinates with other providers to ensure holistic treatment. She has also contributed to programs supporting campers with autism spectrum disorder and other special needs, emphasizing inclusion and accessibility. With a commitment to emotional intelligence, active listening, and creative therapeutic interventions, Ahlyana continues to advance her mission of promoting mental health, community empowerment, and personal growth through the transformative power of art.
