About Aida

Aida Mollaei serves as business development manager of the sustainability product at FemOptect, a Swedish company in the AEC tech sector with a team of around 30 in the U.S. In this role, she acts as subject matter expert leading go-to-market and strategic growth efforts for the North American market, focusing on promoting sustainability data from manufacturers and supporting circular economy strategies in construction. Her educational background includes civil engineering followed by graduate studies in sustainable management in Canada and a PhD in sustainable construction from the University of Waterloo, which she completed in three years. Prior to her current position, she co-founded Adaptus in March 2022, commercializing her research into a lifecycle assessment tool for building owners focused on decarbonization; the company raised funding, grew to 30 people, and earned her recognition on Forbes 30 Under 30 before she stepped down last year after moving from Canada to Austin, Texas. She holds a LEED certification and volunteers with the Zero Waste Block Leader Group and Austin Resource Recovery Initiative in her new community.
