What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the opportunity of working directly with a variety of professionals across legal, cybersecurity, privacy, legal operations, and forensics. It's having that one-to-one interaction and being able to collaborate and work through a given scenario to arrive at the best outcome. The ability to work with professionals across different fields has been invaluable to my career.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to think outside the box. Never hesitate to think outside the box and pursue what may not seem comfortable, because you never know how much your background will be able to open doors and help your knowledge influence others and help to obtain a certain solution.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage all newcomers to any industry to always seek a mentorship within the discipline that they're interested in, whether they're already involved in that subject area or not. Having that one-to-one interaction with someone who has experience in that industry can be so valuable. I also encourage people to never hesitate to think outside the box and pursue what may not seem comfortable, because you never know how much your background will be able to open doors and help your knowledge influence others and help to obtain a certain solution.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think one of the biggest challenges is having confidence to participate in areas where you may not have as much experience as you do in other areas. However, what I have found is that you can draw upon your own knowledge within a particular area and apply those same types of project management fundamentals to succeed in new areas.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I think the most important value for both professional and personal life would be to never lose sight of the personalities involved. It's essential to have that interpersonal communication and touch with whoever you work with. Maintaining strong connections with the people around you, both professionally and personally, is what matters most to me.
