Her Story

About Aimee

Aimee Hernandez is a financial services professional with 16 years of experience, including 13 to 14 years in various leadership positions. She began her career by obtaining her licenses as a financial advisor, motivated by a desire to provide the guidance she lacked as a young adult. With an educational background as a sociology and psychology major, she has earned Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses along with life and health certifications and the CRPC designation. She is also certified in DISC communication styles and is a registered corporate coach. Hernandez currently serves as a revenue share partner with two senior executives at the What's Next coaching and consulting team, where she focuses on practice management and financial planning for advisors building sustainable and scalable businesses, either independently or with teams. She values integrity, respect, and authenticity in both her professional and personal life. Hernandez attributes her success to her determination and the mentorships and relationships that have provided advocates who recognize her capabilities and push her forward. She advises that simple is not always easy, but it does not mean it is not worth it, and there is value in simplicity.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Aimee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I don't give up. I am determined. One of the most important things to my success is mentorships and building the relationships that have allowed me to have advocates pushing me and driving me forward and recognizing my capabilities and my strengths.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Simple is not always easy. But it doesn't mean it's not worth it. And there is value in simplicity.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

There is a lot of opportunity for diversification of all types. Strong female presence is a need.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The opportunity and the challenge is one in the same: being seen and heard with an equitable presence as a male counterpart. We want to build a new floor on top of the current ceiling, not just breaking through that glass ceiling.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, respect, and authenticity. Being able to show up as yourself.
