Her Story

About Aimee

Aimee Sanchez-Zadak is a Behavioral Strategist, Leadership Advisor, Educator, Strategic Planning Consultant, and Speaker based in Davie, Florida, with nearly three decades of experience in psychology, mental health, leadership development, and higher education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership and Human Services from Nova Southeastern University, where her academic foundation shaped her lifelong commitment to understanding human behavior, personal growth, and transformative leadership.

A significant part of Aimee’s professional legacy has been her nearly 27-year tenure at Nova Southeastern University, where she has served as an Associate Lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Psychology. Throughout her time at NSU, she has educated and mentored undergraduate and graduate students in areas including interpersonal communication, introduction to psychology, counseling professions, human sexuality, grief and bereavement, and foundations of therapy. Her courses, particularly those focused on death and dying, have evolved beyond traditional academic concepts to encourage students to explore legacy, personal values, belief systems, and the meaning they create throughout their lives. Aimee is passionate about creating learning experiences that inspire curiosity, self-reflection, and personal transformation, often seeking that moment when students gain a deeper understanding and lasting connection to the material.

Beyond her work in higher education, Aimee is the Founder and CEO of Zadak Research & Development in Leadership and Human Services, where she applies her expertise in behavioral strategy, leadership coaching, and organizational development. She also serves as Chief Operating Officer for the Greater Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce, supporting business collaboration and community engagement. Drawing from her background in private practice, corporate training, and leadership consulting, Aimee helps individuals and organizations identify behavioral patterns, overcome challenges, and develop strategies for sustainable growth. Her career reflects her belief in continuous learning, embracing unexpected opportunities, and trusting one’s instincts to create meaningful impact.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Aimee

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for what I do and my genuine desire to help others reach their full potential. I find fulfillment in supporting not only my therapy clients but also my students, guiding them as they grow, overcome challenges, and discover their strengths. My commitment to making a positive impact, fostering growth, and empowering others has been the driving force behind my professional journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to never stop learning and to embrace every opportunity to grow. A former VP at a large company shared this advice with me when I was in my late 30s, encouraging me to never view learning something new as a burden or a challenge to complain about. Instead, I have learned to approach new skills, experiences, and opportunities with curiosity and an open mind, recognizing that continuous learning is essential for personal and professional growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to embrace continuous learning, stay open to new experiences, and approach every opportunity with curiosity. Many of the opportunities that have allowed me to grow were unexpected, and I learned the importance of being willing to step outside my comfort zone and simply say, “Let me try it.” Growth often comes from taking chances, and while you can always reassess and change direction, you will never know what is possible unless you take that first step. Most importantly, trust your instincts, believe in yourself, and have confidence in the path you are creating.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity in my field right now is recognizing the broad impact and possibilities within education. Education extends far beyond traditional learning environments; it is an ongoing process that influences every aspect of our lives. Every experience, interaction, and challenge provides an opportunity to learn and grow. By embracing education as a lifelong journey, we can continue to create meaningful opportunities, inspire progress, and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
