About Aimee
Aimee Stidham is a respected insurance fraud prevention leader and claims executive with more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She currently serves as Claims SIU Manager for Hiscox USA, where she leads the company's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and oversees the anti-fraud strategy across the United States. Beginning her career as a secretary while attending college at night, she steadily advanced through claims and investigative roles, building a reputation for integrity, technical expertise, and a steadfast commitment to protecting policyholders from fraudulent activity. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Columbia College and holds the prestigious Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI), and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
In addition to her corporate leadership, Stidham serves as President of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU), a position she was elected to in 2025 after serving on the organization's Board of Directors since 2018 and previously holding the role of Vice President. Through her leadership, she champions professional education, global collaboration, and intelligence sharing among fraud investigators, insurers, and law enforcement agencies. She is widely recognized for promoting innovation in fraud detection, mentoring emerging professionals, and strengthening partnerships that help combat increasingly sophisticated insurance fraud schemes worldwide.
Stidham's dedication to both her profession and her community has earned her numerous honors, including the IASIU Outstanding Service Award in 2021, the IASIU Lifetime Member Award in 2024, and recognition as Person of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she serves on the board of Endless Options, a nonprofit supporting adults with developmental disabilities, reflecting her commitment to giving back through meaningful community service. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to more than 25 years of experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to continuous growth. Starting my career as a secretary and advancing into leadership has taught me the value of perseverance. Today, I serve as President of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU) and as Claims SIU Manager for Hiscox USA, where I focus on protecting policyholders by preventing fraudulent claims while helping advance the special investigations profession.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from the exceptional mentors who believed in me, challenged me to grow, and encouraged me to pursue opportunities with confidence. I’m especially grateful to Peter Mackey, Sean Ainsworth, and Mark Jones, whose guidance and support have had a lasting impact on my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always be resilient, stay true to who you are, and never stop working hard. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but with perseverance, authenticity, and determination, you can overcome challenges and build a rewarding career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is balancing the demands of travel while ensuring I make a meaningful difference in the industry. Despite the demands, it’s also one of the greatest opportunities, allowing me to collaborate with professionals, share knowledge, and help strengthen efforts to combat insurance fraud and protect policyholders.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are resilience, compassion, hard work, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a two-time cancer survivor, I have a unique perspective on life that inspires me to lead with purpose, continue growing, and give back through my work and community involvement. Whether serving in leadership, supporting organizations for individuals with disabilities, or protecting policyholders, I strive to use every opportunity to create a positive impact.
