Aisha Alfaro

My professional journey has taken me through several different fields, each teaching me valuable lessons about leadership and service. I started at TCC where I was a student assistant and peer coach for over 2 years, working firsthand with students to get them resources and organizing events like food banks. I loved being able to help students directly and make a real difference in their lives. I also did a retail sales internship with Buckle, where I worked with customers firsthand and became the top salesperson every week during my time there - my best week I brought in over $10,000 in sales. Right now, I work as a personal shopper in social market while I finish my bachelor's degree in business management, which I'll complete this May. What I'm most proud of is how I've succeeded in every role I've taken on and exceeded expectations. Each job has taught me something about the kind of leader I want to become with people. I'm actively involved in three organizations at school: the American Marketing Association (where I served as an officer last year), Women in Business, and Alpha, which is an organization for Latinos in the business area. After graduation, I plan to pursue my master's in HR Management because my goal is to become a leader for other Hispanic women who are pursuing their degrees and to show them not to stop at a bachelor's - to keep going to a master's or even a doctorate.
