Her Interview

Ten minutes with Aisha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I don't want to say myself, but I feel like just wanting to see things happen because it's like after the first project I did came to life, it's like, okay, if I can make this come to life, I can really do anything. Like, what's stopping me from just doing?

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I met with this one counselor sometime last year. ... if you have an idea of something that you're passionate about and something that you want to do for yourself. There's no reason that you shouldn't, you know, take the steps to reach that goal. So it's like, even if it doesn't seem like something that's gonna be easy, if it's a goal of yours, you should always just find a way to make it happen.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Honestly, the most important thing is to listen. Like, I feel like a lot of people don't do enough listening and understanding. It's mostly like responding and also wanting to be heard and understood. But I feel like the more you listen, the more you really learn from other people and just experiences.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say relationships. Honestly, just the way you listen and understand other people as well as yourself. I feel like it's important to have a good relationship with yourself as well as the people around you.
