Her Story

About Aishwarya

Aishwarya Srinivasan is a Business Analysis Manager at Cisco with over 10 years of experience in data, analytics, and information technology. She began her career with a degree in Computer Science in her home country and gained early experience in the banking industry before relocating to the United States to further pursue opportunities in data analytics. As the industry evolved toward big data and artificial intelligence, she returned to academia and earned her master’s degree in Big Data Analytics with a focus on Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, strengthening her technical and analytical foundation.

She has been with Cisco for over eight years, where she currently leads global teams as a Business Analysis Manager. In this role, she oversees cross-functional collaboration across diverse regions and contributes to product ownership and strategic decision-making through data-driven insights. Her work supports the organization in translating complex business requirements into scalable analytics solutions, enabling more effective and informed decision-making across teams. In recent years, she has also been actively engaged in artificial intelligence initiatives, participating in internal AI programs and incorporating emerging AI technologies into her daily work to enhance efficiency and innovation.

Beyond her technical and leadership responsibilities, Aishwarya is deeply committed to mentorship and community development. She is actively involved with Women in Data Science, where she supports and mentors individuals, particularly those re-entering the workforce after career breaks. She values cultural awareness, inclusion, and building meaningful professional relationships, and she brings these principles into her leadership approach. Looking ahead, she aims to continue growing as a strategic leader, expand her impact in AI-driven transformation, and further strengthen her efforts to support and empower women in STEM.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Aishwarya

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my husband, Sundar, honestly. He's been in the industry for like 20 years, so he's been a major source of inspiration for me. His work ethics, resilience, and commitment really motivate me. What impresses me most is that even though he has 20-plus years of experience and has been working in AI for the last 5 years, he's still learning and continuing to grow. He'll come out of work and sometimes tell me about what he was reading about AI. That continuous learning mindset, even with all his experience, is the biggest inspiration for me. It shows me that no matter how far you've come in your career, there's always room to keep growing and evolving.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

For me, it's more about people than just the work itself. I mean, we'll forget one day what table or what data we worked on, but it's really about making relationships with people and trying to be in their shoes to understand them. We have different cultural backgrounds on my team, people from different parts of the world report to me, so I make people a priority other than just work. That's how I handle the emotional challenges of wearing multiple hats. I also value giving back to the community. Through Cisco's 80 hours of volunteering, I can step back and give back, whether it's volunteering at Furkids helping dogs find homes, or packing gifts for kids in temporary foster homes during Christmas. And mentorship is huge for me. Seeing someone I mentored, like a young woman from Africa who just finished college, get her first job and move to the UK - that's the biggest reward for me, more than any corporate recognition. Those are the things that really matter.
