About Alana
Alana Braunstein, Esq. is the founder of Braunstein Family Law & Mediation, a boutique family law practice located in the heart of Solana Beach, California, and serving the greater San Diego county. She represents clients in divorce, custody, prenuptial agreements, and also has a mediation practice. Alana represents clients in litigation while also running a prominent Neutral Divorce Mediation practice, guiding couples through complex family law matters such as the division of high-asset cases and often emotionally charged custody matters. Ms. Braunstein's developed neutral divorce mediation practice, as an alternative to the long, costly litigation process and offers couples a private, controlled process to resolve dissolutions outside of court.
Whether she is acting in the capacity as an advocate or a neutral mediator, Ms. Braunstein's mission is to ensure that client have a full understaning of their rights and empowers them to make level-headed, informed decisions during some of life’s most challenging transitions, which effects a family’s unique circumstances. Licensed to practice in California since 2012, Alana has focused exclusively in family law since 2015, building over a decade of specialized experience. Earlier in her career, she practiced commercial real estate and corporate law, gaining experience at several of San Diego's largest firms before establishing her boutique practice in Solana Beach. In addition to her legal work, she is actively involved in the community, volunteering with Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, and has been recognized as a nominee for Super Lawyers and Rising Star for her professional excellence.

01What do you attribute your success to?
She attributes her success to tremendous role models and mentors—particularly the women in her life (mother, mother-in-law, grandmother) and attorney mentors Denise Bowden and Lori Viviano—who modeled character and a strong work ethic.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To remain persistent and trust the process of growth.” Mentorship from respected female attorneys played a pivotal role in guiding her transition into family law, reinforcing the importance of learning from those who have walked the path before her.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never take no for an answer." Persistence and continued effort are key to building a remarkable legal career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The advancement of AI is a coming shift in the profession. She also notes increased interstate and international custody issues driven by remote work and mobility since COVID.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Mentorship, character, a strong work ethic, and family are central to her approach and priorities.
