Her Story
About Alana
I've been in business for 20 years, starting as a woman engineer in the oil and gas industry focused on digital transformations and talent development. My career has always been at the intersection of energy, technology, and people development. For the past 8 years, I've been a keynote speaker inspiring and equipping women in male-dominated industries with strategies to build confidence, align work with purpose, and lead change. I also provide executive coaching and draw from my experiences being both supported and unsupported to help women navigate their unique journeys, including as a woman of color.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Seek mentorship and don't wait for it to come to you. Find women further along in their careers and also male advocates who will sponsor you. Be bold in seeking that guidance. Align with people who celebrate, encourage, and provide advice. Understand that mentors, especially women, have one-to-many relationships, so take responsibility for navigating the relationship. Having a super mentor has been instrumental in my own journey both in-house and as an entrepreneur.
