Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alberta

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success, number one, to God. It's just the health and the mercies of God, it comes back there. And then I would attribute it also to, hard work. Resilient. And, you know... I think that, yeah. All the partners and the people in my light that I'm wanted to work with.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Something that I will share with them is that number one, it would have to be a passion... start with the need that you can see, and listen to the people who are leaving it. You don't have to have everything figured out before you help someone. Just be consistent, build relationships, and don't be afraid to ask for help yourself.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The opportunities is being able to Partner with other amazing people also doing work in the organization. Because I believe we cannot do it alone... challenges, the need is growing, but sometimes we need volunteers to run. We need reliable funding... We are a grassroots nonprofit.
