About Alecia
My journey into wellness began around 2017 when I was working as a scientist and trying to find work-life balance. I got into yoga, decided to do yoga teacher training, and started teaching more frequently in 2020. I created trap yoga, which is yoga to jazz, R&B, and Afrobeats, to create a cohesive culture and climate and spaces for underrepresented communities. Before transitioning into wellness, I was a stem cell scientist, and our lab was actually the first lab in the United States to get our stem cell drug product approved by the FDA. The FDA created a new department for human-derived drug product, which means something donated from one human could become a drug and be injected into another human. Now I'm in a doctoral program for chiropractic at the University of Bridgeport, and I'm also running my business, LovelyColorBrown Wellness. During the day I'm a student studying and building out this avenue of human movement to have my own practice, implementing things I've learned from being a yoga teacher and a scientist. In the evenings I focus on my business, where I'm in the gym recording workout series, educating my clients on health recipes, and doing overall life coaching on how to work with your nervous system to find peace and restoration. I'm really focused on highlighting the intersections of modalities that a lot of people kind of do in one lane, connecting nervous system work, spiritual energetics, and body mechanics in chiropractic.
