Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alese
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God. There's no way I would be where I am without him. Things like right place and right timing are in his control, not mine.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Expect the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt even on bad days. Respect others and ensure it's reciprocated. A smile goes a long way - be generous, uplifting, and de-escalate tense situations rather than getting defensive. Most people intend to do good, so don't take things personally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be persistent and consistent. If you get a no, keep pushing forward. Trust yourself, study hard, and do your best. No one is perfect and everyone is learning, so don't be afraid to make mistakes - learn from them and move forward. You have a lot to offer even when starting out.
