Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alesia

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would attribute my success to just always remaining to be my authentic self, always being eager to continue to learn, always remaining open to learning something new. My family continuing to push to work hard and show up to give 100% of my best self. And I've had really good women at NASCAR who have mentored me along the way and molded me and developed me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice would be to never stop learning. So there's always something that you can learn to do. To shadow someone, have exposure to.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I always tell my mentees that the best thing that you can do when you're looking to get into HR or into any space is that there will never be another you. So in NASCAR there's literally not another Alesia. The great thing about it is how you show up is can be unique to you. Define let people your work ethic define who you are and that represent your brand your self-brand. Your work ethic how you represent yourself who you support. To take care of your brand you are your own brand and you have to take care of that in every room that you walk in.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

We work with people. Just continually to ensure that we there's a big conversation around civility in HR. There's a big conversation around AI with HR right now but just making sure that HR it's important for us to take care of ourselves so we can take care of our clients aka our employees. And just continuing to be good resources because employees you know as they're trying to show up as their best selves they need those support.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My values would be like I said authenticity would be number one integrity. I think those are my top two.
