About Alethea
Alethea Reed serves as a credentials coordinator, bringing 25 years of expertise in healthcare credentialing, provider enrollment, and health systems administration. She has been with Healthcare for the Homeless for two years, following a 20-year tenure at MedStar Health and additional experience in government contracting. In her role, Reed provides credentialing privileges and support for physicians, nurses, PAs, CMAs, case managers, and social workers, while also assisting human resources with onboarding. She earned an associate's degree in human services from Prince George's Community College and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology. Reed is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and participates in Top Ladies of Distinction, where she engages in community work including visits to nursing homes and providing scholarships for youth. Outside her professional roles, she owns and operates Basket Case, a small business creating custom baskets for various occasions for the past 10 years.
