Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alex

01What do you attribute your success to?

My faith and my husband, who manages everything else in our life and is my caretaker due to my chronic illness, allowing me to focus on my career.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You can't ever stop learning. It's a necessity, not an option. Get okay with failure - when something doesn't go well, view it as one less way you've learned how not to do something. Be proactive with latest technology and practices.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges: Leading by influence when not a high-up leader, navigating politics, understanding where the average corporate citizen is in terms of readiness for new tech. Opportunities: Many new jobs emerging; anyone can become a leading expert; business area experts in AI for HR, marketing, etc.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Leading with empathy. People only care to learn from you when they learn that you care. Putting yourself in someone else's shoes constantly.
