Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alexandra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say definitely what I went through when I was younger, being in recovery and unfortunately being addicted to drugs when I was very young. It allowed me to become very adaptable. I went from being homeless in downtown Boston to owning an almost multi-million dollar company in 10 years. And if you would have told me 10 years ago, this is where I would have been, I would have laughed in your face. I think everything I went through just kind of made me who I am today. It made me really compassionate, and understanding, and able to just kind of roll with the punches. I'm not usually the type of person to be like, look at my success, you know what I mean? I don't take anything for granted. But talking about it is weird for me, but also really cool, because if I didn't go through what I went through when I was younger, I might not be where I am today.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to believe in myself even when others doubt me. I’ve learned that growth comes from being willing to take risks, staying adaptable, and continuing to move forward despite obstacles or setbacks.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women that you can do whatever you want if you put your mind to it. There is no limit to what you can achieve, ever, if you really put your full effort in. That's 100% what I believe. Because the only thing that can get between you and your goals is your own mind. That's it. You just have to believe in yourself and decide to put your mind to it, and you can change your life in the blink of an eye.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is the political and economic climate, especially as insurance budgets shrink and smaller, family-owned organizations struggle to compete with large corporations and private equity-backed companies. The constantly changing digital marketing landscape also requires continuous adaptation, particularly with frequent Google algorithm updates. At the same time, the greatest opportunity and reward comes from helping people access the support they need and witnessing the life-changing impact that guidance, hope, and the right resources can have on someone’s future.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, honesty, and leadership. I believe in doing everything with integrity first and being accountable when mistakes happen by communicating openly and taking responsibility. I also value strong leadership, especially during challenging situations. When problems arise, I believe leaders should step up, support their teams, and take responsibility in order to protect and guide the people around them.
