Alexandra (Sorensen) Macare M.Ed.
Alexandra (Sorensen) Macare, M.Ed., is a pioneering education leader, TEDx speaker, and founder of Always Meaningful Education (AME), a global initiative redefining learning through neuroscience, curiosity, and human potential. With over 30 years of experience spanning early childhood, K–12, and higher education, Alexandra has served as a teacher, professor, school leader, literacy specialist, curriculum designer, and charter school developer. Her work integrates graduate-level knowledge in school leadership and cognitive development with decades of practical experience, creating education models that honor human biology, emotion, and identity.
In 2019, Alexandra launched Always Meaningful Education to establish a purpose-driven framework for learning, and in 2022, she implemented the Meaningful Learning Framework (MLF) in a school setting. This flexible, learner-centered model prioritizes nervous system regulation, curiosity as a learning entry point, growth-focused assessment, and authentic contribution beyond the classroom. AME and the MLF are now applied globally in hybrid programs, homeschools, microschools, private learning environments, and specialized settings for gifted, twice exceptional, and neurodiverse learners, empowering students to become who they are meant to be rather than conforming to traditional system expectations.
Beyond her organizational leadership, Alexandra hosts the Education Transformation Podcast, collaborates with students on creative media projects, and speaks internationally to advocate for education that blends neuroscience, human potential, and purpose. She is also an author, with her upcoming book, The Shift: Reimagining Learning for a New Era of Human Growth and Purpose, and a TEDx speaker, having delivered “The Chemistry of Curiosity” in November 2025. Committed to self-care and holistic well-being, Alexandra integrates practices like yoga, Pilates, and meditation into her approach, modeling a balanced and innovative vision for education worldwide.
