Alexandra Potter is a Senior SEO Specialist and digital marketing strategist based in the Kansas City area, currently with Go Local Interactive. With 10+ years of experience in SEO, she blends strategic insight with hands-on technical expertise, working at the intersection of data, content, and website infrastructure to drive sustainable organic growth.

In her current role, Alexandra leads enterprise-level organic, local, and AI-aware search strategies for multi-location, service-based brands across self-storage, pest control, multifamily housing, and moving. Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a strong ability to rise to any occasion and quickly become a subject matter expert and trusted resource for others. Through self-teaching, persistence, and a commitment to continuous learning, I have been able to adapt, grow, and consistently add value in complex environments. I am also grateful for the early opportunity provided by Red Nova Labs, which enabled me to enter the tech field and build a solid foundation for long-term professional growth.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You don’t prove your worth by saying yes to everything. Boundaries are professional maturity — not weakness.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If I could give one piece of advice to young women entering SEO and tech: build a strong foundation and stay curious.

Learn how things work. Ask why. Read the data yourself. Don’t just follow tactics — understand the mechanics behind them.

You don’t need to know everything, but you do need to believe your voice belongs in the room.

The industry will evolve. AI will reshape it. Algorithms will shift.

Curiosity, adaptability, and clear thinking will always be valuable.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is the rapid influence of AI on search results, which is fundamentally changing how SEO operates and requires deep technical and strategic adaptation. At the same time, this shift presents a significant opportunity to develop more sophisticated, data-driven approaches. Because different industries and local markets behave differently, success increasingly depends on tailoring strategies to specific verticals and regional dynamics rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are continuous learning, sharing knowledge, and mentorship. I believe in staying adaptable in an ever-changing environment and take pride in being a dependable resource that others can rely on.
