Her Story

About Alexandra

Alexandra Irena Reyf is the founder of AIR Health & Wellness, an integrative health and somatic coach, and certified hypnotherapist based in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Somatic Counseling: Body Psychotherapy, from Naropa University.

Alexandra’s work is rooted in a simple observation: people can understand themselves incredibly well and still feel stuck. They may know where their anxiety comes from, recognize their patterns, and have years of therapy, books, podcasts, or personal development behind them, yet insight alone has not necessarily changed how they feel or live.

Through AIR Health & Wellness, Alexandra combines her background in clinical counseling and somatic psychotherapy with integrative health coaching and hypnotherapy to help people move beyond intellectual understanding and into lived change. Her work supports clients in reconnecting with their bodies, understanding the patterns beneath what may appear to be separate struggles, and developing greater trust in themselves and their own inner guidance.

Her approach is expressed through the AIR Method: Awareness, Integration, and Reclamation. Awareness brings the underlying patterns into view. Integration brings that understanding into the body and everyday life. Reclamation is the process of reconnecting with the parts of oneself, including intuition, expression, choice, and self-trust, that may have become obscured by old patterns or expectations.

Before founding AIR, Alexandra worked with diverse populations including refugees rebuilding their lives after trauma and displacement, adolescents and young adults, individuals navigating substance use, and people experiencing anxiety and emotional overwhelm. These experiences shaped her belief that meaningful change cannot be reduced to a single technique or formula.

Alexandra sees her role not as a “fixer,” but as a guide. Her work centers on helping people hear themselves more clearly, reconnect with what feels true, and create lives that feel more embodied, authentic, and their own. Beyond private coaching, she is expanding this work through workshops, group experiences, speaking, and retreats.

Ten minutes with Alexandra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to learning to trust myself while remaining open to growth. My education and professional experience gave me a strong foundation, but some of my greatest growth has come from following what genuinely excites me rather than what I think I am supposed to do. I try to practice the same things I encourage in others: stay curious, listen to my body and intuition, remain willing to change direction, and trust that I do not need to follow someone else’s path for my work to be meaningful.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to keep following what excites me. To bring my authenticity wherever I go. I’ve learned that I don’t need to follow a predetermined path simply because it is how things are usually done. The more I trust my curiosity, intuition, and genuine enthusiasm, the clearer my direction becomes. In my work with others, that also means remembering that I am not here to fix anyone. My role is to offer guidance, create space for exploration, and trust that each person has their own inner wisdom and capacity for change.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Trust your own voice before trying to perfect someone else’s formula. Learn from mentors, build a strong foundation, and take your education seriously, but don’t confuse someone else’s path with the path you have to follow. Your intuition, personality, lived experience, and the way you naturally connect with people are part of what you bring to this work. You don’t need to become a version of someone else to be credible. Let yourself experiment, evolve, and build a career that actually feels like yours.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I see in wellness today is that people have access to more information than ever, but information alone doesn’t necessarily create change. Someone can understand their patterns, know every regulation technique, and still feel disconnected from themselves. I see an opportunity to move beyond constantly giving people more information and instead help them build a lived relationship with themselves: learning to listen to their bodies, trust their own signals, and actually experience the freedom, connection, and joy they’re trying so hard to achieve.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

What matters most to me, in both my work and personal life, is authenticity, freedom, connection, and leaving room for joy and play. I believe we spend so much time learning how we’re supposed to live that it can become difficult to hear what is actually true for us.

I have learned through experience to practice the same things I encourage in my clients: checking in with my body, trusting my intuition, honoring my yes and my no, and having the courage to follow what genuinely excites me. To me, growth isn’t about becoming a more perfect version of yourself. It’s about reclaiming trust in who you already are and creating a life that actually feels like your own.
