Ten minutes with Alexandra

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received came from Alana Lipscomb, Executive Director of the Women’s Community Leadership Initiative, where I serve as treasurer. She taught me that true success comes from helping others grow and investing in your community.

This principle has guided my banking career, where I focus on building community relationships, developing team members, and promoting financial literacy for youth, seniors, and military members.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to focus on building strong communities and relationships, advocate for the people and causes you care about, and leverage networking to grow your business. I’ve also been guided by the principle that true success comes through service—helping others grow and investing in the community you serve.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field today include economic uncertainty, evolving client needs, and the responsibility leaders carry for both people and performance. I’ve found that being accessible, transparent, and resourceful makes all the difference. Whether guiding a client through a financial decision or mentoring a team member, leadership is about meeting people where they are and supporting them to succeed.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me in both work and life are connection, support, and accessibility. I strive to be someone people can always reach—whether colleagues or community members—which has helped me grow alongside those I serve. Outside of work, I find joy volunteering, spending time outdoors, and exploring history—activities that keep me grounded and connected. These pursuits reflect the same values that guide my career: curiosity, service, and growth.
