Alexandria Borrego, RPA®, CMCP™, is an accomplished commercial real estate professional and Associate Director at Hiffman National, where she specializes in property management, client relationship management, operational excellence, and team leadership. With 16 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, Alexandria has built her career by progressing through increasingly senior roles, including tenant services coordinator, property administrator, assistant general manager, general manager, senior property manager, and Associate Director. She is a licensed commercial real estate broker and holds both the Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Certified Manager of Commercial Properties (CMCP) designations.

Alexandria earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Marketing from Loyola University Chicago, where she was also involved with Alpha Kappa Psi. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development, effective property operations, and delivering value to clients and stakeholders. Her expertise includes commercial property management, budgeting and reporting, lease administration, contract management, tenant relations, vendor coordination, building operations, and strategic planning. She has also been recognized for her leadership and commitment to the industry, including receiving the BOMA Full Designation Scholarship and serving as a leader within BOMA/Suburban Chicago's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Alexandria is passionate about continuous learning, leadership, mentorship, and community involvement. She believes in maintaining high personal standards, taking accountability, collaborating with others, and remaining open to new ideas and industry trends. She is particularly committed to encouraging women in commercial real estate to ask questions, build confidence, and seek out strong mentors. Outside of work, Alexandria enjoys reading, Pilates, traveling with her family, visiting Mexico, exploring new adventures, and spending time with her daughter, including attending swim classes and Disney-related activities.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being a go-getter who holds myself to high standards and continuously strives to do better and achieve more. Mentorship has also played a significant role, especially the women who have supported my career by building my confidence, encouraging my growth, championing my potential, and sharing valuable lessons along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to know that I belong in the room and was given a seat at the table for a reason. I’ve also learned to never be afraid to ask questions because knowledge is power and curiosity creates opportunities for growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to remember that knowledge is power, so ask questions and stay curious. Have confidence in yourself and seek out a strong female mentor who will support, encourage, and champion you. Female mentorship offers a unique and valuable perspective that can make a meaningful difference in your career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is managing time and priorities effectively. With competing demands and responsibilities, being intentional about where I focus my time is essential to staying productive and achieving the greatest impact.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are accountability, collaboration, and building meaningful relationships. I believe in being accountable to myself, my family, my clients, and my team, while always striving to be a trusted partner who brings value. I also prioritize personal connections and understanding my colleagues’ professional goals, because strong relationships and collaboration are essential to success.
