01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to take the time to discover what truly inspires and motivates them. Identify what you are passionate about and pursue opportunities that align with your values, interests, and goals. It is important to stay connected to what you care about, remain authentic to yourself, and build a career that reflects what is meaningful and important to you.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is the increasing polarization and the way news media can sometimes shape conversations around complex issues in a way that creates division. Important topics are often oversimplified, leading to high-conflict discussions rather than meaningful dialogue. I believe there is a significant opportunity to encourage more thoughtful communication, focus on shared values, and find common ground so we can better understand one another and address challenges together.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in my work and personal life are understanding, respect, trust, and building meaningful connections with others. My educational journey shaped how I approach law and leadership, from growing up in San Rafael, California, in a more conservative environment to attending college in Hillsdale, Michigan and law school at the University of Minnesota, where I was exposed to people from all over the country with different perspectives and values. These experiences taught me that understanding people is just as important as understanding the facts, issues, and the law. Whether negotiating settlements, advising business leaders, or managing legal risk, I believe the most lasting outcomes are built through trust, empathy, open communication, and mutual understanding.
