Ten minutes with Alexandria

01What do you attribute your success to?

Observing my Mom while growing up gave me a natural motivation to want to become successful.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Run your own race, even if that means slowing down. Also, always ignore the “imposter syndrome”.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Try to imagine what success looks like for you in 5-10 years, make a road map, and it’s yours. It’s okay if plans change as there are numerous opportunities in this field.

Education and credentials are very important in this field but so is the hands on experience. Start with getting your foot in the door while you are receiving your education (if applicable). Also, network and establish connections with professionals that are already established in the area that you’re pursuing.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There are next to endless opportunities in this field. Any route that you begin with can lead you down many different avenues, leadership or not.

These same opportunities can lead to the challenge of not being able to choose.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value an organization that allows for a nice home/ work life balance while valuing its employees. A healthy and professional work culture is a must.
