About Alexandria
Alexandria Schoen, is the Executive Editor of Social Magazine, a community-driven publication focused on highlighting the people, businesses, events, and stories that shape local communities. Alexandria began her role in January 2026, bringing her background in sales, community engagement, storytelling, and relationship building to the position. As an editor, she focuses on developing advertising opportunities, coordinating community and event coverage, and helping local businesses and organizations share their stories with a wider audience. Her approach is centered on creating genuine connections and building trust with the people and businesses she serves.
Alexandria has developed a diverse professional background spanning healthcare, education, fashion, and sales. She earned an Associate of Science in Engineering from James H. Faulkner State Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her previous roles include certified optician, education paraprofessional, medical device sales representative, and wardrobe consultant. While working with Tom James Company, Alexandria distinguished herself in sales by ranking as the number eight rookie, earning Presidents Club recognition, attending a CEO dinner, and being selected for the company's Women's Board. These experiences strengthened her expertise in client relationships, sales strategy, communication, and understanding the unique needs of customers.
Beyond her editorial career, Alexandria is also an entrepreneur and active member of her community. She and her husband, Corey, operate DC Millworks, a custom signage and design business that creates unique projects using CNC routers and laser technology. Their work has included projects for The Wharf in Gulf Shores, including an eight-foot marlin display. Alexandria is also passionate about fitness and community involvement and teaches dance fitness classes at the YMCA, where she has built a strong following. Through her work at Social Magazine, entrepreneurial ventures, and community activities, Alexandria continues to demonstrate creativity, leadership, and a commitment to building meaningful relationships and amplifying the people and stories that make communities special.
