About Alexandria
I just graduated with my bachelor's in marketing from VCU. I advocate for foster youth pursuing higher education and did a TEDx talk at my university on the topic. As a former foster youth, I started a pastry business in 2021 which led me to pursue business and college. I completed community college in 2 years with a 3.95 GPA through the Great Expectations program and graduated from a 4-year college with a 4.0 GPA as Student of the Year. I'm starting my MBA in August and host college success workshops for foster youth.

Ten minutes with Alexandria
01What do you attribute your success to?
My mentors and my husband have been incredibly supportive. My dad passed away when I was young, and a mentor came into my life who recently asked if I could be his chosen daughter.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Ask questions, be pushy because you don't get resources unless you're being pushy. You cannot get more scholarships or funding if you don't let people know you're having issues. The people who push are the ones that get it.
