Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I think it's just really going back to the whole purpose, you know? Everybody wants to feel like they are doing or playing a meaningful role in life. And I think for me, it's just a sense of purpose. Me wanting to be at a much better place than I was even 5 years ago. Having much better opportunities for my kid than what I had. I think it's just so many factors that come into place, but yeah, I think it's just really, for me, feeling that I am doing, I am contributing, I am dishing out the best version of myself and becoming that best version.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I feel like I've received a lot, right? Everybody has advice. I mean, maybe do what makes you happy. I mean, even in life, right? We spend so much time working. Why not enjoy it? Something that feeds your soul. It's not something that you should be doing.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be open. You don't know everything. Be open to learning, because the job will never stop learning. You know, there isn't a handbook. So everything is kind of just putting yourself out there, and not being afraid of making mistakes, because mistakes are going to happen in this field, because that's how you learn. And don't take yourself so seriously.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Currently, I feel like I'm already working at a higher level. I did have to take a little pause as far as progressing whenever I had my baby. She's [AGE] now, and I feel like I'm finally back in this space where I am able to do both, and I want to still have time and spend with my child, but I want to continue advancing. Currently, I am working towards advancing towards a senior property manager position, and hopefully onward after that, now that I kind of feel like more of myself now after having a baby.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I think at work it's more constant improvement. Constant learning. Never stopped learning. Constant development of who you are. I think that, personally, being the best version of myself that my daughter can see. It's important for me to still continue my ambitions and just showing that I can actually juggle. I can do both. I can be a great mom, and I can be the ambitious woman that I am.
