01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to do things right the first time. If I don’t have time to do something properly now, I should consider when I’ll realistically have time to do it over. I’ve also learned the importance of always being kind. We never truly know what someone else may be going through, so treating others with patience, understanding, and kindness can make a meaningful difference.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the dental industry is to never burn a bridge. Dentistry is a small world, and professional relationships can have a lasting impact on your career. Treat everyone with respect, maintain positive relationships, and always conduct yourself professionally, because you never know when your paths may cross again or when someone from your professional network may open the door to a new opportunity.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in dentistry right now is dealing with dental insurance companies that deny claims and delay payments. In some cases, it can take six to nine months for dentists to receive payment for services they have already provided. These delays create financial and administrative challenges for dental practices and can make it more difficult to focus resources on patient care.
