Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alexis
01What do you attribute your success to?
I continuously find myself in the position of the operational side of HR. People seek me out for building things and making departments happen. While I can do those things, my truest passion lies more on the fun side of HR like employee experience, engagement, and events that make the work experience the best for employees.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Having a mentor who encouraged trying out ideas rather than shutting them down immediately, followed by reviewing what went well or didn't, was pivotal in my career growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Look at getting certified because certification classes are relevant, updated, and jam-packed with what you need to know. Also find a mentor to coach you, guide you, and be a sounding board no matter where you are in your career.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Seeking to understand, validating others, taking a step back to access things from multiple angles, respect, and communication are most important to me.
