Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alexis

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to staying true to myself and being who I am in my greatest capacity. People tell me to just be myself and stay who I am, which I love the most because it allows me to be seen for my natural personality without changing for others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to stay myself and be who I am in totality. To change yourself to be something for someone else is never ideal, so I love being seen for me and my natural personality.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stay consistent. You're not always going to see the support you want from the people you want it from most, and you're not always going to be confident because we're our biggest critics. But stay consistent even when it gets dark and lonely. It doesn't mean you're not moving in the right direction. The second we give up on ourselves is the second we lose.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity is growth and being able to constantly learn. There's always something new coming out, trending, and people's taste buds change. Being able to hold on to old recipes and put your own spin on them, do things people have never thought of, and collab with others. It's a blessing to constantly learn because a lot of people cut their learning ability off thinking they know everything.
