About Alexis
She is a Doctoral Researcher in Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Discovery and a Graduate Teaching Assistant in various biological subfields at Florida Atlantic University. In her research role, she designs and conducts experiments involving fluorescent binding assays, peptide synthesis, spectroscopy, chromatography, and mammalian cell culture. She also works closely with her principal investigator on experimental design and mentors undergraduate students in laboratory training and research development. As a teaching assistant, she prepares laboratory materials, delivers biology lab instruction, and supports undergraduate students through mentoring and academic guidance. She is also a Co-Founder of FAU Grad SciBRIDGE, an initiative aimed at building a professional network between STEM graduate students and industry partners to support career development and collaboration. Previously, she worked at Akron Bio in multiple roles, including MSAT Associate, Process Development Associate, and Process Development Technician, where she led GMP process implementations, supported technology transfer and scale-up, improved production efficiency, and contributed to regulatory documentation and quality systems. She also gained research experience as a Chemistry Research Intern at Red Abbey Labs and began her career as a Scientist I in Microbiology & Chemistry at Pace Analytical, where she helped manage laboratory operations, ensured regulatory compliance, and led training and safety initiatives.
