Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alexis

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the inspiration I have found throughout my career in social work and to the experiences that have continued to shape my commitment to helping and supporting others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to make sure I genuinely enjoy what I do and am happy with my career choices. I believe in exploring all of my options, continuing to move forward, and never holding myself back or limiting what I can achieve. I will never know what is possible unless I am willing to put myself out there and pursue the opportunity.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the social work profession is to never tell yourself no. Put yourself out there, pursue opportunities, and allow others to make their own decisions about whether to say no. Do not limit yourself before you have even given yourself the opportunity to succeed.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are helping and supporting others. My work is centered on being there for people, providing support when they need it, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve.
