Her Interview

Ten minutes with Alexis

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think that it's just a combination of surrounding myself with go-getters and people that have that growth mindset, and just always being eager to get to that next level. It's so rewarding to see something come to life. I feel very passionate about the product that we are selling. I'm super competitive, I love to coach, I love to mentor. The mentors that I've had in my life have been absolutely incredible and really helped guide me and shape me. It takes a village.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

When I was asked to run sales, my mentor told me that you don't have to be a sleazy car salesman. You are a builder, and you're building their brand for them, and you're helping them with that. That really shifted my mindset to a consultative approach, helping to build their brand.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Just go for it. Embrace it, and stay true to yourself. Be very transparent, thrive on relationship building. Genuinely care about the people and the brands. Being the human in people, having that relationship in a professional way. Stay true to yourself, bring your own personality out, approach it with authenticity and genuineness.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge has been getting brands to latch onto the idea of employee and consumer advocacy. It's still new and exciting, and brands are hesitant on how to do it safely with the right technology. It's scary to some brands to enable their employees to talk about them online, but now they're understanding they need to incorporate it into their marketing strategy.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Being transparent and honest is super valuable to me. Your word means everything. I value being happy in your career and personal life. Life is too short. Find joy in what you're doing. Have a positive attitude, bring fun, win the fun, win the game. Look for the good and bring that energy wherever you can go.
