Alice Carroll is a laboratory revenue cycle consultant and forensic accountant with more than 35 years of healthcare experience, specializing in laboratory operations, reimbursement, and revenue cycle optimization. As Principal of Revenue Cycle Consultants, she partners with hospital-based outreach laboratories, independent laboratories, physician office laboratories, and emerging diagnostic organizations to strengthen financial performance through operational assessments, workflow redesign, payer contracting, billing optimization, and cash flow improvement. Her expertise includes Zyphen billing system implementations, reducing days in accounts receivable, revenue recovery, and identifying fraud, waste, and abuse, enabling healthcare organizations to improve efficiency while maximizing reimbursement.
Throughout her career, Alice has guided numerous nationally recognized laboratories and healthcare organizations through complex regulatory, operational, and reimbursement challenges. Her work spans organizational restructuring, revenue cycle transformation, interim leadership, financial benchmarking, vendor selection and implementation, contract analysis, and strategic consulting for new and established laboratory services. Known for her deep expertise in laboratory billing, CPT coding, reimbursement strategy, and healthcare finance, she has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor who delivers practical solutions that enhance revenue integrity, accelerate cash flow, and support long-term organizational success.
Alice earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern California College and served eight years in the United States military as a legal administrator before transitioning to healthcare consulting. She is recognized for her transparent, direct, and results-oriented leadership style, building lasting relationships through integrity, accountability, and a commitment to excellence. Beyond her professional work, Alice is dedicated to supporting fellow veterans through her volunteer service with Disabled American Veterans (DAV), reflecting her lifelong commitment to service both within and beyond the healthcare industry.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I'm loyal to fault. And I'm transparent. I say it as I see it. I'm not a fluff person at all.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Just do your best.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Stick with it. At the beginning, the pay is not what you think it would be. But at the end, it pays off. And being self-employed works well.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Everybody's looking for somebody with some type of billing knowledge. I'm in a niche market with Zyphen implementations since they first opened their doors.
