Her Story
About Alicia
Alicia Barmore is an accomplished sales and business development professional with nearly 20 years of experience in real estate and more than a decade in logistics and transportation. Her career began in sales with Radio Shack and Altel before she transitioned into real estate, building her business while continuing to work full time in sales. Her logistics career took off at UPS in Greenville, South Carolina, where she began in inside sales and advanced to an outside sales account executive role. Her results-driven approach earned her recognition as a World of Champions producer, placing her among the top sales performers in the United States. In real estate, she demonstrated the same determination, selling 58 homes in a single year while working part time. Today, Alicia serves as a National Account Executive with ASF, where she focuses on international ocean and air freight and is working toward becoming one of the company’s top 1% performers.
Alicia’s commitment to professional growth is reflected in the certifications and licenses she has pursued throughout her career. She holds licenses in real estate, life insurance, and bail bonds and is pursuing a mortgage license. While these credentials are not necessarily intended for active practice, Alicia views them as valuable tools for education and staying current with changes across industries so she can better understand and serve her clients. She credits much of her success to the strong work ethic modeled by her mother and grandmother, as well as the guidance of professional mentors Ivan and Sharon Earl. In a competitive marketplace, Alicia strives to distinguish herself through integrity, honesty, knowledge, and a genuine commitment to doing what is right for the people she serves.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Alicia places a strong emphasis on family, community, and personal growth. She enjoys spending time with her 24-year-old son and stepdaughter, traveling, reading, and exploring home interior design. She also gives back through food drives, coat drives, can drives, and events supporting the United Way. Looking ahead, Alicia hopes to build a home on five acres within the next year or two while continuing to grow her business and expand her impact in the logistics industry. Her journey reflects a willingness to continually learn, take on new challenges, and pursue excellence without compromising the values that have guided her throughout her career.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alicia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to watching my mother and grandmother work hard to take care of our family despite significant financial challenges. There were times when we were living on as little as $300 of income, yet they never allowed us to go without. Seeing their resilience and commitment instilled in me the same mindset: no matter what challenges I face, I will always work to put myself in a position to take care of my family.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to give it my all every day and always return to my “why.” I believe in writing personal and professional letters to myself to stay connected to my goals and remembering why I started, especially when things become discouraging. I also keep God at the forefront through prayer, seeking guidance about my next move and staying connected to my spiritual self. Sometimes, you simply have to be still, listen, and remember your purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to keep giving it their all and keep their eyes on their goals. Find your passion and follow it, even when the journey becomes discouraging. Keep pushing forward, have faith in your higher power, and stay connected to yourself so you can recognize your next move. Most importantly, when things feel overwhelming, take a moment to be still and remember your “why.”
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is increased competition and market saturation in both logistics and real estate. Years ago, there were fewer people competing in the market, but today customers may encounter many professionals each week. That makes it essential to continually find ways to set yourself apart through integrity, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to staying informed about changes in the market.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and honesty are the most important values to me. I want people to know me as someone who tells them the truth and genuinely has their best interests at heart, rather than someone who is simply focused on making a sale. Building trust and doing what is right for the people I serve are more important to me than any individual transaction.
