About Alicia
Alicia Drake is a healthcare science education, health care administration, adjunct teaching, practice management, healthcare operations, primary care operations, customer service, healthcare management, and academic instruction professional with experience across school systems, colleges, and medical practice settings. She currently serves as Healthcare Science Instructor with Dougherty County School System and Adjunct Professor at Albany Technical College. Her background includes practice management with Phoebe Physician Group and operations management training with Albany Area Primary Health Care. She began her collegiate teaching in 2018 and has a total of approximately 12 years in education combined with middle school teaching. Drake holds a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration from Albany State University, a master's in organizational management from Ashford University, an MBA from Albany State University, and is pursuing a PhD in healthcare administration at Morehouse School of Medicine with expected graduation in May 2028. Prior to education, she accumulated 19 years of experience in healthcare advancing from customer service roles to leadership and operations management.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't sweat the small stuff and stay focused. Stay humble, stay grounded. Keep your eyes on your goal. Seek discernment early on. Have your faith aligned with purpose and destiny. Be mindful of your circle of friends. Develop an appetite for discipline and being focused.
