Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alicia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my mom who was a single mother and never stopped, serving as a great model and encouragement. Also leaning on my mentors, like Chastity Rose, my first branch manager, and remembering that you can't do it alone and to get in rooms where you're not the smartest one.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't limit yourselves or box yourself into thinking finance is only banking or finance institutions. Any organization needs finance assistance, so finance opportunities exist everywhere an organization is thriving or operating.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is huge, especially in finance where people trust you with their finances and personal information. Effective communication is also key, as a CFO it's only effective when I can communicate what I see and witness in statements and such.
