About Alicia

Alicia Rodriguez is a veteran and professional working in education and veteran services in Las Vegas, Nevada. She decided a couple of years ago to pursue a career in education after starting a master's program in special education to better support her children, three of whom have ADHD or autism. This path led her to complete classroom hours, work as a substitute teacher, and ultimately secure a position as a resource room teacher at her children's school, where she will begin her first classroom in the coming weeks. In parallel, Alicia has spent approximately five years in veteran services, beginning with a state grant position in 2021 that assisted the Department of Labor in employing veterans from high-risk populations such as those experiencing homelessness or with disabilities. She later joined Project Safeguard Veterans, an initiative of the Office of Veteran Suicide Prevention, where she markets educational resources for veteran support to businesses and medical facilities while helping veterans access services including VA healthcare enrollment and job placement. Alicia is a member of DAV, AUSA, and Merging Vets and Players, through which she engages in peer mentorship and community connection. She emphasizes values of integrity, transparency, and servant leadership, and she extends her commitment to service through volunteering with organizations and coaching childrens sports.
