Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alicia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the leaders, colleagues, family, and friends who have supported and challenged me throughout my journey. I have been fortunate to work with leaders who pushed me to grow, learn, and recognize my potential, including my best friend, who evolved into an exceptional leader and gave me the opportunity to work alongside her. Her leadership and example were particularly inspiring and reinforced the importance of strong mentorship and meaningful professional relationships. I am also grateful for the encouragement and support of my peers, family, and friends, whose guidance and belief in me have played an important role in my personal and professional growth.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to feel the fear and do it anyway. You are not always going to feel completely prepared or confident before taking on a new opportunity, and that is okay. Sometimes, you have to take the leap, trust yourself, and learn along the way. By stepping outside of your comfort zone and embracing challenges, you gain experience, develop new skills, and build the confidence you need to succeed.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to recognize the value of their experience, education, skills, and unique perspective. It is important not to compare your journey to someone else’s, because everyone’s path and timeline are different. Trust that what you bring to the table is valuable and that you are capable of achieving your goals. Be confident in who you are, embrace your strengths, and show up authentically. Your individuality is one of your greatest assets, so never feel the need to diminish it to fit someone else’s expectations.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field is the ability to bring together operational leadership and data analytics to create smarter, more efficient organizations. I have a strong passion for building and optimizing operations, identifying challenges, and developing practical, data-driven solutions that address business needs and deliver measurable results. My goal is to continue growing in a management or analytics role, ultimately combining both areas by leading analytics functions that support strategic decision-making and operational performance. I am especially motivated by opportunities to build effective processes, improve efficiency, solve complex problems, and inspire others to reach their full potential.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are integrity, honesty, and self-compassion. I believe in being truthful with myself and others and consistently doing what is right, even when it may be difficult. I also believe it is important to apply the same advice and grace to myself that I offer to others. Rather than being overly critical of myself, I strive to recognize that growth takes time, mistakes are part of the learning process, and giving myself grace allows me to continue learning, improving, and moving forward with confidence.
