About Alicia

Alicia Vajid is an HR business partner with 15 years of experience in the field. She currently works for a global company with approximately 90,000 employees, where she covers a portion of the western United States and supports employees across nine European countries. In her role, she develops people strategy, drives business initiatives, manages change and employee relations, and leads strategic talent planning, including efforts toward a future-ready workforce through AI enablement, career transparency, and leadership capability, as well as M&A integrations. Alicia began her career after studying business in college and gaining early exposure to HR. She has worked across multiple industries, including healthcare, entertainment, retail, and technical ad tech, before entering global IT consulting. She holds a SHRM certification related to California law and is enrolled in the Leadership Link Institute to further develop her leadership influence. Alicia is a member of SHRM and a local chapter. Outside of her professional work, she has served as a lead and board member for the non-profit Who's Hussein? for three to five years and continues to volunteer with the organization.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Ask if they want generalist strategic space or specialized HR seat like benefits or compensation. Get exposure across different departments early to figure out what calls to you most and define your path from there.
