Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for teaching, education, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of my students and community. I began my career as a second-grade teacher and have advanced steadily, continually seeking opportunities to grow and expand my influence. Along the way, I earned my certification in Executive Coaching and established my own LLC. Guided by my mission to "create a culture of compassion that empowers others to be true to themselves and their best selves," I strive to lead with purpose and inspire those around me.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to keep moving forward and never stop learning. Embracing continuous growth has allowed me to adapt, evolve, and take on new opportunities throughout my career.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: you, too, can make a difference. Believe in your abilities, stay confident in your voice, and approach every opportunity with purpose and determination. Your contributions matter and have the power to create meaningful impact.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now has been expanding my impact beyond the classroom. I started my LLC as a Certified Executive Coach while also serving as Assistant Director of the school, which allows me to support both individual growth and organizational development. Balancing these roles can be challenging, but it also creates unique opportunities to drive positive change for students, educators, and the broader community.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are making a meaningful difference and ensuring that education is accessible and effective for all learners. I am deeply committed to bridging gaps in learning and creating environments where every student can succeed. This commitment has been recognized through honors such as the Distinguished Literacy Teacher Award in 2017 and the Edwin Spinks Award in 2018.
