Ten minutes with Aliette
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my unwavering faith in God, resilience, discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I have learned that lasting success is built through consistent preparation, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, and remaining focused on a purpose greater than myself.
I also believe that success is never achieved alone. The guidance of mentors, the support of my family, and the opportunity to serve others have shaped both my personal and professional journey. Above all, I strive to lead with integrity, excellence, and compassion, believing that true success is measured not only by personal achievement but by the positive impact we make in the lives of others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always remember my “why.” Every patient, every student, every client, and every person I encounter is someone’s loved one, deserving of dignity, compassion, and excellence. Keeping that perspective at the center of my work has helped me lead with empathy, make thoughtful decisions, and remain grounded regardless of the challenges I face.
I’ve also learned that when your purpose is clear, excellence becomes a natural byproduct. Your “why” shapes how you serve, how you lead, and ultimately the legacy you leave. It has been the guiding principle throughout my career and continues to inspire everything I do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering healthcare is to believe in your ability before the world gives you permission to. Don’t allow fear, comparison, or imposter syndrome to limit what you’re capable of achieving. Be intentional about your growth, seek out mentors, remain teachable, and commit yourself to excellence every step of the way.
Healthcare needs compassionate, confident, and courageous leaders. Many specialties that were once considered male-dominated are now being transformed by talented women who are breaking barriers and raising the standard of care. If you are willing to do the work, stay resilient through challenges, and keep learning, there is no limit to the impact you can make. Never underestimate the power of preparation, perseverance, and believing that you belong.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Healthcare is at a pivotal moment. Rising healthcare costs, workforce shortages, provider burnout, and an aging population with increasingly complex medical needs continue to place significant demands on the healthcare system. At the same time, rapid advances in technology, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based practice are transforming the way care is delivered.
While these challenges are significant, they also present tremendous opportunities. Advanced practice providers are uniquely positioned to improve access to high-quality, patient-centered care, lead innovation, and help shape the future of healthcare. I believe this is an exciting time for healthcare professionals who are committed to lifelong learning, collaboration, and leading with both clinical excellence and compassion.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my work and personal life are faith, integrity, excellence, compassion, and service. My Christian faith is the foundation of everything I do, shaping how I lead, make decisions, and care for others. I believe that character is built through consistency, and true leadership is demonstrated by serving with humility and purpose.
In my profession, I never take the trust my patients place in me for granted. Every interaction is an opportunity to provide safe, compassionate, and excellent care. Beyond healthcare, I strive to live with authenticity, invest in meaningful relationships, and leave a positive impact wherever I serve. At the end of the day, I hope my reputation reflects not only what I have accomplished, but how I have treated people along the way.
