About Aliette
Aliette St. Hilaire, DNP, CRNA, APRN is a highly accomplished nurse anesthesiologist, educator, entrepreneur, and mentor with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and over 15 years specializing in nurse anesthesia. She currently serves as a Nurse Anesthesiologist with TeamHealth, where she provides expert perioperative anesthesia care for patients undergoing a wide range of complex surgical procedures, including robotic, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and obstetric cases. Beginning her career as a registered nurse in a cardiac intensive care unit, she discovered her passion for anesthesia and pursued advanced education at Barry University, earning both a Master of Science in Anesthesiology and a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNP). In addition to her clinical practice, she serves as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at Barry University, educating and mentoring the next generation of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
Driven by a commitment to excellence both inside and outside the operating room, Dr. St. Hilaire is also the founder of Sacred Garden MindShift, a personal and professional development platform dedicated to helping high-achieving professionals and couples cultivate resilience, maintain work-life balance, and thrive holistically. Drawing from her own journey as a teen mother who built a successful healthcare career while raising a family, she empowers others to overcome self-doubt, develop confidence, and pursue ambitious goals. As a certified business coach with the John Maxwell Team, she extends her impact through leadership coaching, mentorship, and personal development, helping aspiring CRNAs gain admission into anesthesia programs and successfully complete their education.
Throughout her career, Dr. St. Hilaire has remained deeply committed to advancing the profession of nurse anesthesia through patient advocacy, education, and leadership. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and the Florida Association of Nurse Anesthetists (FANA), continually promoting patient safety, professional excellence, and lifelong learning. Guided by her Christian faith and grounded in the values of integrity, excellence, presence, and perseverance, she believes that meaningful success comes from serving others while remaining true to one's purpose. Whether caring for patients, mentoring future healthcare professionals, or inspiring individuals through coaching and speaking, Dr. St. Hilaire continues to make a lasting impact on both the nursing profession and the lives of those she serves.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Aliette
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience, perseverance, grit, faith, and self-belief. Balancing more than 40 years of marriage, motherhood, and a demanding career taught me the importance of staying focused and adaptable. I believe confidence comes from preparation, consistent effort, and never giving up.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to know my “why.” Every patient is someone’s mother, father, spouse, or loved one, and remembering that keeps me grounded in compassion. When your purpose is clear, it naturally shapes the way you communicate, care for others, and approach your work.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering healthcare is simple: the door is wide open. Pursue your goals with confidence, even in specialties that have traditionally been male-dominated. Don’t let imposter syndrome or self-doubt define your future—if they can do it, we can do it too.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Healthcare is facing significant challenges, including rising costs, provider shortages, and an aging population with increasingly complex needs. At the same time, these challenges have created tremendous opportunities for advanced practice providers, whose expertise and leadership are more valuable than ever.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, excellence, and presence are the values that guide my work and personal life. I strive to build a reputation that speaks for itself, remain true to my Christian faith, and honor God through the care I provide. As a nurse anesthetist, I never take my patients’ trust for granted and am committed to being vigilant, dependable, and delivering excellence every day.
