Her Interview
Ten minutes with Alina
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I had wonderful mentors at BP and Wood McKenzie. One boss suggested reading a book on oil and gas history. A female mentor from Holland who worked on offshore rigs gave tips on assessing strengths and weaknesses and learning from them. Good connections with powerful people can move the needle.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Understand your passions and skills and align them with your values. Be authentic. Skills can be perfected through education but you have to know yourself.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trust, loyalty, honesty, integrity. Being honest with each other, getting on the same page, compromising when needed.
