Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the leadership foundation I gained at the United States Naval Academy, coupled with over ten years of service in the Fleet Marine Force. Those experiences taught me that leadership is about responsibility, empathy, and holding people to high standards while supporting them fully.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Serve with excellence and stay true to yourself. Plans matter, but people matter more—show up consistently, hold yourself and others accountable, and lead authentically.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You can be firm and compassionate at the same time. Holding people accountable and caring about them are not competing values—they are both required. Lead authentically and be yourself, because people will see through pretense.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My leadership philosophy is simple: accountability and compassion go hand in hand. Strength and empathy are not opposites—they are partners. These values have guided me in leading Marines, advocating for victims, and mentoring students. Balance and growth require intentional space for reflection and self-care, which I maintain through fitness, reading, and creative hobbies.
