Alisha Stripling

Senior Client Success Manager
Los Angeles, CA 90012

Alisha Stripling is a Senior Client Success Manager at StemWave, where she supports strategic account management, provider growth, and internal team support within the healthcare space. In her role, she manages healthcare provider relationships while also mentoring colleagues, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and collaborating with the Director of Client Success, Sydney Schneider on ways to improve processes, retention, and the overall client experience.

With over 12 years of experience across healthcare and client success, Alisha has built her career around relationship building, provider support, and long-term partnership development. Her background includes roles with WebMD, Future Family, and Stericycle, where she advanced into senior client success and account management positions focused on retention, growth, and operational support.

Alisha’s career began in direct sales at 18 years old with Mary Kay, working alongside her mother while continuing sales throughout college. While she found success in sales early on, she realized her passion was in the relationship-building side after the sale; supporting clients, understanding their needs, and helping guide them throughout their journey. That ultimately led her into Client Success.

Her approach is grounded in meeting people where they're at. She values staying calm, understanding people on a deeper level, and helping bridge the gap between patient care, operational growth, and the overall client experience.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to my faith, maintaining humility, and staying grounded no matter the season or level of growth. I’ve never been someone who believes they know it all, because I truly value learning, self-awareness, and continuous improvement. I actively seek feedback from peers and leadership, always looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally.

I’m also naturally very self-reflective and tend to hold myself to a high standard. In many ways, I’m often my own biggest critic, but that mindset has pushed me to consistently show up with a strong work ethic, remain calm under pressure, and maintain a high level of performance while also being a dependable support system for those around me.

My mom has also played a huge role in shaping who I am professionally. She worked in project management and direct sales, and throughout my career, I’ve leaned on her insight, perspective, and approach to leadership and communication. My very first role was working under her as an independent Mary Kay consultant, and many of the foundational skills I still carry today started there. The discipline, emotional intelligence, professionalism, and strong foundation she instilled in me early on have stayed with me throughout every stage of my career.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I think some of the best career advice I’ve received has been the importance of adaptability in Client Success. You work with many different personalities, communication styles, and challenges, so being able to adapt while remaining authentic is incredibly important.

I’ve also learned the value of staying curious. The more you uncover and truly understand about your clients, the more value you can bring through the solutions, support, and experience you provide. Building strong relationships starts with taking the time to genuinely understand people on a deeper level.

Another piece of advice that has stayed with me is the importance of staying calm and composed. Client Success is constantly evolving, and with that comes shifting priorities, challenges, and escalations. Learning how to navigate those moments with composure, empathy, and clarity can make a huge difference in both retention and long-term relationships.

I also believe in identifying potential flags early on and proactively working toward solutions that genuinely make sense. Being proactive instead of reactive is a skill set I’ve continuously worked to strengthen throughout my career and still do, and it has played a major role in building trust and creating better outcomes for clients.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be, first and foremost, to be yourself. Especially in Client Success and relationship building, people can genuinely feel authenticity, and that connection goes a long way in building trust and long-term relationships.

I’d also say it’s important to stay curious. Take the time to truly get to know your clients, understand their needs, goals, challenges, and what success looks like for them. The more you understand people on a deeper level, the more value you can bring through the solutions, support, and overall experience you provide. A huge part of Client Success is not only supporting sustainability, but also helping drive long-term growth.

I also believe empathy and adaptability are incredibly important, especially in healthcare space, you’re often working with doctors, different type of providers, and healthcare professionals, whose expertise is centered around treating patients and delivering care. The business, operational, or marketing side may not always come as naturally to them, so part of our role is learning how to meet people where they are and support them in a way that makes sense for their unique situation.

At the same time, I think it’s important to adapt without losing yourself in the process. You can adjust your approach while still remaining authentic, grounded, and focused on bringing value to the relationship. When you combine authenticity, curiosity, empathy, and adaptability, it creates stronger rapport, builds trust, and ultimately helps navigate the client journey in a much more meaningful and successful way.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think one of the biggest challenges within Client Success is identifying early on whether there’s full alignment between a client’s expectations, goals, readiness, and overall fit. A large part of our role is helping realign expectations when needed, identifying potential barriers early, and working collaboratively toward solutions that make sense for everyone involved.

At the same time, there’s a big opportunity in strengthening alignment across cross-functional teams, especially on the front end of the client journey. Having a thorough assessment process and really determining who is truly the right fit at the right time versus who may not be fully ready yet is incredibly important. There’s a saying that money can come in quickly and go out just as quickly, and I think that applies here as well. If timing, readiness, effort, or other key factors are not aligned early on, it can significantly impact retention.

I also see a lot of opportunity in continuing to leverage AI, automation, and operational support tools to help alleviate more administrative and time-consuming tasks. That support can create more space for teams to focus on higher-value areas such as client management, relationship building, strategy, retention, and overall client experience.

At the end of the day, strong communication, teamwork, and alignment across departments are what help create the best outcomes. When clients are genuinely aligned, engaged, and prepared for the process, it creates a much stronger foundation for long-term success and a true win-win for both the client and the company.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are first staying true to myself, being genuine in how I show up.

I also value staying grounded and teachable. I never want to operate from a place of thinking I know everything, so remaining open to feedback, learning, and finding ways to improve.

Much of who I am comes from the strong foundation my family instilled in me, along with the continued support, guidance, and advice I’ve received from my parents, friends, colleagues, and mentors throughout my life and career.

Protecting my peace and maintaining balance are also very important to me. I’ve learned that you can be driven, ambitious, and supportive of others while still prioritizing your well-being and remaining centered through life’s challenges.

Overall, I value growth, strong relationships, composure, and being someone people can genuinely rely on.
