Her Story
About Alisha
I'm a veteran who transitioned from military service into defense and aerospace sales, wanting to stay in the same career field after leaving the service. While I was never guided towards tech, I found my niche in it and have been able to grow tremendously over the past 3 years. As the West Defense and Aerospace Sales Manager for Allied Vision, I provide vision solutions for defense and aerospace customers, going through technical discussions with them throughout the day to make sure I'm providing the correct solution. What sets me apart is that I'm a very understanding person who listens and doesn't try to provide solutions without fully understanding the problem. I like to dissect the problem and figure out the best avenue, going through the thick and thin with all of my customers, which has helped me build really close relationships with them. My approach has been so successful that my company moved me to Austin to be closer to my top customers. Last year, I brought in $3.2 million, and this year they tripled my quota to $9.8 million. I'm the only woman on an all-male sales team where everyone else has 30+ years of experience in machine vision, and they have 1% of what I do. I was named most improved and top producing sales agent of 2025. Beyond my sales role, I'm also a single mom to my daughter Alaya who will be 5 years old, and I just started a notary signing business called Aligned Notary Signings that I plan to scale over the next 5 years. Within my company, I want to be a heavy decision maker, whether that's CTO or CFO, within the next 3 to 4 years.

Ten minutes with Alisha
01What do you attribute your success to?
Every day when I wake up, my why is my baby. I always want to provide a good life for her and show her better. When it comes to my customers, I'm a very understanding person. I understand, I listen. I don't try to provide solutions without fully understanding the problem. I like to dissect the problem and then figure out the best avenue. Maybe we can take two different avenues and figure out which one is the best, but I am a person that goes through the thick and through with all of my customers. I have a really good relationship with them, very close relationships with them. That's what differentiates me from the rest. I'm an overachiever who goes above and beyond.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You gotta do the dirty work. You have to go out there and not be afraid of the no's. That is what's going to set you apart. You have to claim the room. It's hard to elevate in rooms where you are always not in, but you gotta get gritty, and you gotta do the dirty work. That's what I can say about the defense and aerospace technology career field.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges I can say is a lot of projects, you can't see the greatness in them right away. It's a lot of research, it's a lot of development. It's a lot of time. The turnaround time for any project right now within my company is 376 days. That can be up to a whole year, so you just have to see the vision outright, and that can be a challenge for some because we all, as human beings, we want instant gratification. That's what we feed off of. So, just see it through. Another thing is the workload can be challenging. As long as you open up your mind and ask for help, the tech community is always going to pull up towards you. It's better to say I don't know than act like you do. I guarantee you with tech, you can't really fake it till you make it. You get called out pretty quick.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My main area of expertise today is providing solutions for every relationship, business relationship, personal relationship in my life. I always want to be an asset to others and those around me, and I believe that that comes from being in sales and just me being in the service and wanting to provide solutions and help people. That's one of my main key points of the day. I give glory to God when I open my eyes each morning, and I make sure I'm in the right places with my daughter, taking her to our women's devotional group and giving back to my community on Sundays.
