Her Story

About Alison

Alison Doherty serves as a product manager at Wells Fargo in the banking industry. In this role she leads a scrum team that enhances systems called Aprimo and Red Oak to make it easier for marketers to execute campaigns. Her career path began in insurance where she managed a team before she transitioned into marketing technology. She created a product from scratch and learned development skills on the job before applying for product roles and moving into banking to support marketing operations. Alison is currently taking Harvard Extension courses in psychology and philosophy because of her interest in people. She is also involved with the Boston Camera Club, a non-profit where she promotes the arts and photography through weekly meetings, gallery shows, competitions, and collaborations such as an exhibit with a poetry club that was displayed outside the International Contemporary Museum of Art in Boston. Alison attributes her success to putting herself in other people's shoes to understand their perspectives, her capacity for both depth and breadth in thinking, and an optimistic outlook that helps tackle any challenge. She advises young women entering the industry to flex their soft skills muscle.
