Alissa Quinn

Alissa Quinn is an author, storyteller, and advocate for meaningful human connection. She is the author of The Power of Impact Circles, a book inspired by more than three decades of creating communities where people come together to share wisdom, encouragement, opportunities, and support through both professional and personal challenges. Her work emphasizes the idea that individual relationships can develop into powerful circles of connection that help people navigate life transitions, discover new possibilities, and make a lasting difference in one another’s lives. Family has played an important role in Alissa’s journey and perspective. She credits the love, support, and values instilled by her parents with helping shape who she is today, particularly their emphasis on relationships, education, kindness, and following one’s passions. Her family story also connects closely with her love of ballroom dancing; her father, Frank Calabria, authored the memoir Let It Be a Dance, and Alissa has carried forward that family connection to dance. She has spent more than two decades competing in ballroom dancing and has achieved international recognition, including an eighth-place finish at the open gold level at the Blackpool Dance Festival in England. She has also volunteered with an inner-city children’s ballroom dance program, sharing her passion for dance with younger generations. Travel and cultural experiences have likewise enriched Alissa’s life. Her time abroad during college included studying in Seville, Spain, with extensive European travel through experiences that contributed to her appreciation for different places, people, and perspectives, including recent travel in Asia. Her passion for ballroom dancing has continued to take her around the world, including competitions and memorable experiences in Romania, England, and Italy. Through her writing, dancing, family relationships, and travels, Alissa Quinn continues to celebrate connection, community, personal growth, and the joy that can emerge when people share their experiences and support one another.
